Introducing Work Package 5: She@Cyber Toolkit and Train the Trainer Methodology

Work Package 5 of the SHE@CYBER project is dedicated to ensuring the long-term transferability and sustainability of the project’s results by equipping trainers, educators, and vocational training organizations with the tools and knowledge they need to deliver cybersecurity education effectively. This package moves beyond learner-focused activities to empower those who will, in turn, teach and guide future cohorts of cybersecurity professionals, particularly women and disadvantaged groups.

The central aim of Work Package 5 is to develop a comprehensive educational toolkit and a structured train-the-trainer methodology. This will include workshop designs, pedagogical principles, innovative teaching models, and detailed guides for delivery and accessibility. By combining technical cybersecurity knowledge with aspects of business resilience and people management, the toolkit will provide a holistic approach to training. Trainers will not only gain state-of-the-art materials but also learn how to adapt and apply them in diverse cultural and professional contexts.

A key innovation of this package lies in its focus on inclusive and gender-sensitive training methods. By integrating diversity principles into the teaching framework, Work Package 5 ensures that training environments are welcoming and supportive for women and underrepresented groups. Practical pilot workshops will be organized across participating countries, testing the methodology with VET trainers and educators, and gathering feedback to refine the final outputs. This participatory approach guarantees that the toolkit and methodology will be relevant, effective, and adaptable across Europe.

The end result will be a replicable, ready-to-use training methodology and toolkit that can be implemented by VET providers, professional trainers, and organizations well beyond the project’s lifespan. It will create a multiplier effect: each trained trainer will be able to guide new learners, building a pipeline of skilled and diverse cybersecurity professionals. Ultimately, Work Package 5 contributes directly to bridging the skills and gender gaps in the cybersecurity workforce, while promoting resilience, innovation, and inclusivity in the European digital economy.
